At TheKittenHaven, we are dedicated to the health and well-being of our kittens. Each kitten undergoes thorough health checks to ensure they are healthy and ready for their new homes. Please read our health guarantee to understand the care and coverage we offer for each kitten.

Health Assurance at Adoption

1. Veterinary Health Check: All kittens are examined by a licensed veterinarian before adoption to confirm they are free from visible illnesses or abnormalities. You will receive a health certificate and a record of vaccinations, deworming, and any other treatments.
2. Vaccinations and Deworming: Each kitten receives age-appropriate vaccinations and multiple rounds of deworming prior to adoption. A record of these will be provided to help you keep track of their future veterinary needs.

72-Hour Initial Health Guarantee

We offer a 72-hour period after adoption to allow you to confirm the kitten’s health with your own veterinarian:

1. Veterinary Exam: We recommend that adopters have the kitten examined by their own veterinarian within 72 hours of adoption. If the veterinarian finds any significant health issues within this period, please contact us immediately.
2. Refund or Replacement: If a major health issue is discovered within the first 72 hours that was not present or known at the time of adoption, you may return the kitten for a full refund or choose a replacement, if available. Proof of the diagnosis and an official veterinarian statement will be required.

Genetic Health Guarantee

1. Hereditary Conditions: All kittens are tested and certified free of specific genetic diseases common to their breed (e.g., Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) for Maine Coons). Our genetic health guarantee covers any hereditary conditions diagnosed within the first year.
2. Coverage: In the rare event that a hereditary condition affecting the quality of life is identified within the first year, we offer a replacement kitten (subject to availability) or partial refund to cover related medical expenses.

Conditions and Limitations

1. Proper Care: This health guarantee is valid only if the kitten has received regular veterinary care and has been kept up-to-date on vaccinations, flea prevention, and other health treatments as advised by your veterinarian.
2. Environmental Factors: We cannot guarantee against illness or health issues arising from environmental factors, improper care, or accidents occurring after adoption.
3. Lifetime Support: Even beyond the initial guarantee period, we are here to offer guidance and support to help your new kitten thrive.
